i wouldn't make you a cigar box out of a cigar box after that sham you tried pulling .
the finished product is just the garbage left over from doing the work.

ran into a buddy i hadnt seen in a while . was telling him tales from the dumpster , he wanted to go pickin at like 9 at night in a snow storm . i dont really have room for more trash , but i went .

got a shop vack , a 17 inch flat panel lcd (2nd one in a month!) a case of doritos , an ASUS socket 478 motherboard with a pentium four 3 gig chip , 2 hard drives , like a 30 and an 80 gig 2 power supplies , SCORE . oh and a giant ghetto blaster that was trashed but i got these huge super gawdy VU meters , all the switches , 6 speakers and a ton of LEDs

put a pc together today with the parts in this fancy case a dude gave me , its sweet , my new clunker pc . it is all garbage picked , except the ram that was like 30 bucks for a gig . viri ? bring em on !

Image

the side is clear so you can see if anything is on fire

Image

i put a temperature gauge in it even though it already had one , its got 3 temp sensors now , the one meter is Celsius , the other , you guessed it Fahrenheit .

i always wanted a real eyesore PC , it needs some strobes , maybe a fogger .

Image

notice the 6 dollar security cam ? its got one touch too .

Image

so today on the way home , even though i hit those dumpsters yesterday , i had to go back . i am getting bad .

went to the arcade place , i couldnt see well last night and there was some wires in this bag . turns out there was this black box . it had a 12 volt jack , a fan and a network port . this thing had like 16 torx bits securing it . it said tunes central "touch tunes" my hunch was that this thing was an mp3 server for a new fangled juke box .

it was , and it had two 250 gig seagate barracuda hard drives in it !!!!! i have one running in this clunker right now .

rescued a timex old fashioned style bell ringer alarm clock from the resale store dumpster .

i have been wanting to make something like this for a while . my wife and i call our kids by whistling or a knock on their wall or screaming their names . like most kids , you have to call them around a half dozen times before they respond . by that time they think we are mad cause we are screaming their name , its really goofy .

Image

Image

Image

gutted the clock , hooked up a wire that runs to the living room table with a doorbell button . we hung the alarm above the door . it sounds like an old ma bell phone ringing . pretty loud !

maybe my wife will use it to wake them up for school .

There has been a distinct lack of cooking threads recently. We might need to rectify this...

Cryin' O'Brien breaks news to his staff

Conan O'Brien broke down in tears yesterday while reading to his writing staff his 553-word statement that he no longer wants to host the "The Tonight Show" if it's moved to midnight, an insider said.
With Conan out of the picture, Jay Leno will take back "The Tonight Show" by March 1, if not sooner, sources said.
At the closed-door meeting, a teary-eyed O'Brien told his staff that, at midnight, " 'The Tonight Show' isn't 'The 'Tonight Show' " and that he'd refuse to be part of it
But he was his sardonic self at the show's LA taping last night, introducing himself as "soon to be available for children's birthday parties," and saying how it was "always my dream to host 'The Tonight Show' for seven months."
The statement effectively ends Conan's 16-year affiliation with NBC, several insiders speculated.
"There are people at NBC who are pissed off and will say, 'Fine, if you want to be a s - - -head, just go away already,' " one agent said.

Cant believe he lost to that hack Leno
