It's Hollywoodian in spirit. The French film machine is it's own thing. I don't think this particular film got much from Hollywood if anything. Jeunet is an ideas man. But check out Irma Vep for some good in-jokes on the subject, vis-à-vis French filmmaking and Hollywood influences on popular cultu...
