Saw 'em tonight. Pretty spectacular.
Rather pissed off though, they had Tomahawk vinyl box sets for $40, but that musta only had 6 copies, I got right onto the merch stand and the dude in front got the last one. Poppycock
That string section was tops!

Re: TISM
They're my favourite band. Only band I'm actually a 'collector' of. I've been hoarding for 4 years now. When I got a promotion at my job many years ago I hit a rare record shop and spent $400+ on TISM. Nothing was rare at release, but getting it now gets expensive. I've even got both issues o...

Re: Harvest Festival, Sydney
Oh Maz...if it's anything like Melbourne, you're in for a wonderful time. Really good crowd for one (though in the middle of fucking NOWHERE) - That said, it backed on to the werribee zoo so you would have been at home with the smell of animal shit. Family Stone? So sweet. Mogwai? Well, theres no co...

Re: Recent films. A very brief opinion.
Now that I'm pretty sure I'm up to date with all series that I love, I'm doing all the schlock movies before I do anything good. And as there is a plethora of the superhero genre, and ive got 4 years of some franchises to go on with, I'd like to know what's better / worse compared to these. X-Men fr...

I love James Gunn and he didn't fail me. Great cast, odd mood shifts, needless ultraviolence for no reason, Kevin Bacon - everything a growing lad needs.

Re: older television series revisited
Spaced is a total classic.
Big Train might be up your alley too. Sketch show with Pegg and a bunch of other of the best brits in comedy. Very silly show.
Top of the list would be anything by Chris Morris. But he's not everyone's cup of tea.

Men of a Certain Age
Alright, lets try this again, Everybody Loves Raymond was cancer and Ray Romano and his writing partner made one of the worst and most popular sit coms of all time. Now he's made this, on the US TNT network of all places. Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Baseline Formulaics), Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) ...

Re: Game of Thrones
Totally excellent show still, btw.
Hey Benjamin, without giving anything away (no wikipedia for me!) do the books span a long period of time? As silly as it is, I really want the young little daughter to become a total meanass killing machine.
True / False / Gives too much away to tell me?

OK, Start watching this now. EVERYBODY! Schoolgirl Dead, political intrigue, suspects building. It's based on a Dutch program I'm doing everything to avoid spoilers about. Great cast, story so far is just amazing. Watch the double episode they premiered with and tell me you think it's not amazing. I...

So recent it's not out yet.
Hey Mitch! Will Farrell is in a comedy based on a Raymond Carver short story!

.....yeah!.....
I seriously doubt this will be the film that makes me not hate him.

Re: older television series revisited
Yeah, once again, the studio fucked me. They didn't like the Doc wearing a tshirt with an arrow and the text "I'm with a really nice guy who is doing the best he can whilst suffering a terrible affliction" (and Michael J. was supposed to stand wrong side of where the point of the arrow was)

Re: older television series revisited
Well no, I had no creative control on ALF. The network screwed me over. Always been a massive Trek whore, but that said, if they do something stupid I have no time for it. Enterprise was garbage, the last movie was garbage. I can point to dozens of TNG and DS9 episodes that were the same. I quite li...

I'm SO wary of sci-fi but Brooker convinced me. Downloaded the pilot late one night and I'd done half the first season as well before going to bed.
I really suck at making good television last.

Well, this is only recent for me. With my new fancy shmancy upgrades (gtx460 and another 2gig of ram - still running what is, at 4 years old an outdated processor and mobo) I can now enjoy (even on Linux!) Fallout 3. I have some relearnin' to do with this one having never been much of an RPG'er. I k...

Re: older television series revisited
I will actually pop in here and say I really enjoyed it to the point of forgoing sleep a lot of the time. I did the pilot and 4 seasons in under 2 weeks. Story wanes occasionally but for the most part it seemed like the writers knew what they wanted to do from the onset of the show. The vibe of it c...
