Re: not so recent films

The Castle is certainly a must watch piece of Australiana, and genuinely funny / heartwarming. As a testament to this, the movie is 15 years old and people still quote it's most memorable lines. Be careful to source an Australian copy of this dvd - apparently the international versions had redubbing...

Re: Big Love

Well, thats the end of that then. Overall a very good season. Rather annoyed they had their budget cut so we didn't get any of Bill's brother his crazy wife. That monogamy angle could have played out a lot more. As for the ending? Well, all season I was completely at a loss for what was gonna happen...

Re: My biggest complaint about TV dinners

I hate the situational nonsense of the last 6 months that has caused the local servo to be my only place for food all too often.

Too expensive and I'm the most unhealthy I've ever been. And I've NEVER been healthy.

I'd only be in it for Rattus Norvegicus, but I did watch a bunch o' newish clips recently and they seemed to rock it. I'm guessing you Eurpean guys get certain 'old' acts (a very loose term with no built in connotations) quite cheap. I got Celibate Rifles a few years back. Cost fuck all and sold fuc...

Oh, John. If you have time to kill* I'd love to hear some in depth thoughts on the movie Meat Pie (It's on youtube in it's entirity as 'Going Down Under') It's inexcusably bad, but it's so bizarrely Australian it might give you some lulz. *Waste and never get back. And for God's sake, will SOMEONE p...

Re: Queens Of The Stone Age - Self Titled remaster.

Wish I had the money to pick that shit up. Think it's still my fave of the QOTSA albums. I do have the rated X vinyl though, which is pretty...well, pretty. Sounds very good though the record player I had when I was listening to it a bit, along with my treatment of it, probably reduced the quality s...

Re: Melvins & Primus - Melbourne

An odd thing, cos I loved the Claypool solo last year knowing nothing of it. Primus did nothing for me this year, at the solo or at Soundwave. At the solo (which we had filthy good seats for, though I loathe seats) I thought it might just have been that the melvins rocked my socks off a lot more, bu...

You know it's been released in the world's largest box set? 179 discs.

You'd want to REALLY love that show before investing.

The Virginity Hit http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1695994/ Obviously one for the teens, lacked the malice and for the most part the hijynxery of yer American Pie style 'lets all get laid' film (how is that even a genre now?) which is, I would say a good thing. Mostly hand held and set to look like home ...

They are fuckin' smokin' live at the moment. Tight as all hell. I saw them twice at the BDO last week and they were terrible... I saw them at big day out 2003 and they sucked ass too. Totally used the 'big day off / big pay out' thing to get drunk and sloppy. Solo show they tended to actually give ...

..Better late than Louis. Terrible. I know I didn't see it on the big screen or in 3D, but contrary to Hollywood opinion, these things don't make something bad, good. Only Chris Jericho or tits can pull that off. The same amount of CGI but less plot than a videogame and way too long. Signposted and ...
