Re: The Green Butchers
I didn't feel that way at all with Gronne Slagtere and Adams Aebler, except maybe somewhat with the Iranian-terrorist part. Done in good taste though. You got me wrong, dude. I basically meant "Old men", and "In China". Anders Thomas Jensen wrote, but didnt direct those, so Im g...

Re: what movie screwed you up as a kid?
Good thread! Mine: Cannibal Holocaust. I was basically hardened after that. Ok, not really... I have a memory of watching bits and pieces of Dario Argento's Inferno at a very young age. Im not sure how I reacted to that. I was also frightened by Twin Peaks. This norwegian childrens programme traumat...

My mom didnt allow me to see that one because she fucked up by mistake earlier, by allowing me to watch Cannibal Holocaust with my older brother, at the age of 8. Swear to god, Ive never been the same since. this should be its own thread I think ive mentioned it earlier, and its not really that muc...

Fan of Goldblum? Me too, dude. He was my biggest hero when I was 10, thanks to Jurassic Park. The Duchness? Isnt that some costume drama bullshit with Keira Knightley? Whats that got to do with anything? My girlfriend wants to see it, I know that much... I have not seen, nor heard about Hvid Nat. Is that another one by Anders Jensen? The problem with a couple of these danish black comedies/c...

Sweat sven  Mikkelsen is phenomenal Adams Aebler (Adams Apples), also by Anders Thomas Jensen, is even better imo. Concur. I also like "Blinkende Lygter" (Flickering Lights). That said, I really hated "Gamle mænd i nye biler" (Old men in new cars), and "I Kina Spiser de...

Re: not so recent films
whoa WHOA. I loved the Ladykillers. sure, it's not as mad-deep or quotable as their other stuff but damn, they took a mediocre English comedy and made a decent American comedy out of it. Maybe. I dunno... All I remember from that film, is that it was very forgettable  Speaking of "weak&q...

I sure as hell loved it! What I dont understand is why everyone loved "Oh Brother". Its the Coens weakest, right next to Ladykillers.

Re: THANK YOU, TIGERPANTS!
Richey wrote the lyrics on this last one? Is that also him on the album cover? Is it true that the band are saving one fourth of their income, in case he returns? I recently heard that he was presumed dead, because the amount of time he's been gone. I guess they can use all that money now. I think m...

Re: THANK YOU, TIGERPANTS!
I think their new album is pretty damn good. But my favorite will always be Generation Terrorists. Know Your Enemy is their weakest. I didnt care much for that one. And I havent heard Gold Against the Soul. The rest of their albums are good, many great songs there, although I sometimes find Bradfiel...

Re: Recent films. A very brief opinion.
The Hangover was okay. Ive seen better dickflicks. But I agree with Mr John that the use of Mike Tyson as himself felt somewhat forced. But then again, that is often the case when youre using real celebs as themselves. Anyone remeber Bruce Willis as Bruce Willis in Oceans Twelve? Oh god, that sucked...

Yeah, I remember it getting horrible reviews. Everyone said it was garbage. Maybe my low expectations is the reason I though it was okay? Hmm, I feel like watching this again now.

It's cool that HBO picked it up. It's not cool that HBO picked up Summer Heights High also. Fuck Chris Lilly. They have? Since when? I love that show, and Ive always felt that it was my baby over here, since I discovered it all on my own. Keep in mind that I live on the other side of the earth, and...
